BHM Spotlight: (1984) Michael Jackson wins 8 Grammy Awards

1:29:00 PM KB 0 Comments

On this day, February 28 in 1984, Michael Jackson became the first artist to win a number of 8 Grammy Awards in one night. The group, Santana became the first group & only artists besides Michael Jackson to hit the same record of recieving 8 Grammys in 2000. But, Michael Jackson was the first artist to hit the record. And no one has yet topped this record for one nighters at the Grammys.

THILLER ALBUM = MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE ALBUM EVER!!!
Thank you so much Michael Jackson...

My anticipation is on for...

Usher's
Raymond vs. Raymond Album

The release date is March 30...
and I absolutely can't wait. The tracks I've been hearing lately are seriously dope. My anticipation is building up high. And plus...Usher never disappoints when it comes to delivery with his music. (My opinion!)

Another thing I'm going to point out...
Promotional teams/departments at these record labels need to be fired. Artists can only do so much after they've worked hard and created their work. So, these so-called promotional departments need to step up and do their jobs like they used to. Come on, PROMOTE!

But anyways.
Can't wait for this one to drop. FYI-These days I only buy real music...so, if I'm crazy about buying an actual artist's album then it's got to be something great. Seriously.

BHM Spotlight: A Different World

(TV Sitcom)
144 episodes - 6 seasons
1987-1993
Created by: Bill Cosby

A Different World, a spinoff of the top-rated The Cosby Show, enjoyed a successful run on NBC from 1987 to 1993. The half-hour, ensemble situation comedy was the first to immerse America in student life at an historically black college. Over the course of its run, the show was also credited with tackling social and political issues rarely explored in television fiction, and opening doors to the television industry for unprecedented numbers of young black actors, writers, producers and directors.

Where's The Month For Black History?

7:35:00 PM KB 1 Comments

Around these parts for the past few weeks of February, I've been seeing this frenzy surrounding the Saints Championship & Mardi Gras season. Well...it is sad to say that Black History Month has gone a bit un-celebrated...and obviously in other places in America besides here.

I can't force our society to show some appreciation for this month that was greatly fought to be...but I will began to show appreciation through this blog. There's so much more for people (especially of our generation) to know about our history. Not just Dr. King, Rosa Parks...

Let's start here.
If no one will stop to show & tell us about our own history,
we will educate ourselves.

Vashtie x Big Sean Photoshoot
Photographer: Dante Marshall
From the looks of these shots that are out right now, I'm very excited to see the rest of the shots when they're released. Even though, Vashtie & Big Sean aren't an item, they seemed to mesh really well together for this shoot. I thought they were really cute! And Dante Marshall did an excellent job with this one.
