Favorite Albums Of 2009

12:23:00 AM KB 1 Comments

I love the fact that the music in 2009 was definitely on point...even if nothing else in the world went right.
There were so many great albums. And not only just radio hit songs but FULL GREAT ALBUMS. 2009 has been added to 'my favorite years of music' list. 2004 was the first year added to my list. Because there were so many great albums that came from '04 such as Usher's Confessions, Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi, Kanye West's The College Dropout...
I could go on forever.
But now, as '09 is coming to a close, I've realize that even though things were rough for me this year, the music was the greatest thing ever to me. This year's great albums have helped me get through these past rough times. And I can appreciate that.
*sidenote*
In A Perfect WorldRyan Leslie were my all-time favorites for the year. It's kinda funny how both my favorite SONGWRITER & PRODUCER in the world gave me 2 album loves of the year.
So, here it is...

Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World

Ryan Leslie (Self-Titled)

Jamie Foxx - Intuition

India.Arie - Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics

 Rihanna - Rated R

Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3

Fabolous - Loso's Way

Wale - Attention Deficit

Paramore - Brand New Eyes

Melanie Fiona - The Bridge

*P.S.* There are so many reasons as to why these albums were my favorites of 2009. Just understand that they brought something that no others were bringing...
Creativity. Purpose. Music!

I Love Snapbacks

12:44:00 AM KB 0 Comments

I'm a girl who loves the sight of the infamous Starter snapback hat. Actually, I love the entire '90s feel that it brings to us now in the '00s. You'll see artists like the Cool Kids & Tyga rocking the snapbacks rather than the fitted caps. I love that.

The snapback is a one size fits all. Of course, there's an adjustable plastic strap. I can dig that. But there's only one obvious problem guys! The vintage snapback isn't sold majorly like a standard fitted cap is. Snapbacks are what I would like to call as being "exclusive & rare"! "EVERYBODY" can't rock a Starter Snapback Hat with their favorite team.
But when you see one, you'll know that it's exclusive.

Of course, I know that this video was posted about a year and half ago by Vashtie. But hey...I still like it because it's kinda funny! And if you haven't seen it, here it is...As Vashtie writes Kid Cudi's video treatment, something unexpected happens.

Flashback Movie (Play): Madea's Class Reunion

1:58:00 PM KB 0 Comments

Stage Play Tour (Year) : 2003

Starring: Tyler Perry, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Tamela Mann, David Mann, Terrell Carter, etc...

I remember when this play was actually running & how everybody (at least where I was) had talked about going to see this play on stage. I remember when Tyler Perry had once started selling his plays on videotape & dvd only through a phone number. They weren't in Wal-mart or Best Buy like today. Tyler Perry & his work might not have been huge to the world like he is today but he was extremely big to us. Tyler Perry started off famous in his own right through something called the "Chitlin' Circuit" (that's famous black history for ya...google that). lol.
I have grown up on this man's work. He's an inspiration to me. And he's one of the reasons why I've always aspired to be involved in the production of the film & television industry.
Anyways...
I love this play! It's hilarious to me. Just like every other play that T.P. has done, this one has a message somewhere in it. And there is definitely wonderful songs & straight-up comedy.

Favorite 80's Styles

2:44:00 AM KB 1 Comments

Even though I was born in 1989...I'm a lover of anything 1980's!
From the music to the movies to everything!
I absolutely love all those things but I "ABSOLUTELY" love what everybody was wearing during those times. Seems like people wanted to make a major statement with their fashion.
And that's what makes 80's fashion so bomb! Yes, I Love It!
