As I made my frequent, weekly trip to Barnes N Nobles last week, I decided to picked up the April '09 Issue of Vogue with the Beyonce cover. I should have known what I was getting myself into because every Vogue issue takes up too much of my time with their 200 pages of advertisements.

OK. "I understand Vogue needs to make money from Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Yves Saint Laurent, etc, etc...; but come on! Can Vogue make some money from me & SATISFY ME also! lol. Let's put more words & photos on the pages that's going to tell me something worth wild?"

SO ANYWAYS.

As I was almost halfway reading through, I was becoming very dissatified. And I didn't want to finish reading it. But, as you know, I didn't stop. Because magazines are what I love and there had to be something good in this issue.

After all that being said. Long story LONG! LOL.

I stumbled upon the most adoring & genuine interview and photoshoot of two BFFs in this issue of Vogue. This is my favorite part of the magazine & it features Best Friends, Zoe Kravitz & Olivia Thilby. They are two of America's up-and-coming actresses with the most lovable and unique styles in fashion.

Once reading this 4 page section of the BFFs, I just absolutely loved how much of a true friend these two are to each other. It can't get any realer than that. I've seen them together on pictures from alot of events and they seem really close.

I've notice from the many ordeals that I've had with former best friends & friendships and also what I've seen through other people's friendships is that the words "best friend" are often thrown around so easily and these friendships are in no way proven to be genuine or authentic.


So, for the past few days,

I've been thinking about what is the true role of a true best friend. Because some point in everybody's life they will need a friend. I've come across many definitions & explanations of this role and I've been helped in the process by ezinearticles in showing a few. Soooo, I'm best friendless right now but hopefully this can help me & maybe even you can come to realize the true role of a best friend.
  1. A best friend should be somebody who can be trusted 100% of the time.
  2. A best friend should be the one we are able to confide in, knowing that they will not spread your business to other people.
  3. We may be in trouble, we may have done something terrible... What we require in this situation is 'somebody to support us', listen to our problems, offer advice, but most of all not to judge us. A best friend will offer all of these things, without hesitation. (I love #3!)
  4. We all need somebody to be able to call from time to time, just to talk, even about nothing, somebody who will make us laugh and ultimately happy. We all need to have the odd night out, perhaps at the movie theater, perhaps a nice place, whatever. A best friend will be the person to call and will make time for us in these situations.
  5. A best friend won't stab you in the back by attempting to steal your boyfriend, they will not spread rumors about you, you should be able to trust them with your life.

This is 1 of my favorite videos to watch. Yes, i love MJ rehearsal videos just as much as the music videos. This makes me wish I could have actually experienced the 80's music era. I was born in 1989. So, most of my life I've had to made up for what I've miss. I'll continue to rock to MJ in 2009.

Note to Juelz & Wayne, this here is a real rockstar. Like really. The electric guitar in this song makes me want to...i don't know. lmao. Besides that, my fav. part of the video is when MJ like rips his white t-shirt back. And that's when he starts to act a fool from there.

Films I'm Anxious To See

There are some movies that are out right now & are coming out soon that i'm very anxious to see.

Slumdog Millionaire. For some reason, this film took over this year's Academy Awards with the winning of 8 Oscars. So why hasn't this movie been getting all the promotion attention that it deserves. Well, I first saw the full trailer for this movie in January and i was just taken over with excitement to see this. Who wants to be a millionaire & find his lost love? Slumdog Millionaire, i guess.
Obsessed. What can I say? Beyonce & Idris Elba are married in this movie. And in their lives, they come across this crazy lunatic temp from his office that reveals herself as his stalker. WELL. I think that the movie trailer was somewhat interesting to see being played 'twice' before Madea Goes To Jail on opening night. Yes, I could somewhat understand the preview even with all the ridiculous drama going on the entire time in that AMC Palace Movie theater. Come on, My People. Lol. Anyways, I'm really excited to see how Beyonce is going to keep her man. Or if whether or not 1 of these three people will die. I don't know. We shall see.
Changeling. I'm dying to see this movie. Like really. Not only am I a huge fan of Angelina Jolie but this movie's storyline has me attached. I first saw the movie trailer in January and I've been meaning to buy it on DVD. I love the tagline on the movie poster. It says, "To Find Her Son, She Did What No Else Dared".


And last but not least.

PUSH: Based on the Novel by Sapphire. Here's another powerful film that I know for a fact I will cry from. I'm telling ya'll now. I'm talking Mississippi River tears. lol. Because this movie is a film that will touch lives. And there's so much meaning behind this film. Last year in Essence's Sept or Oct Issue with the Mo'nique cover, I remember her interview and man that was something to read. Mo'nique can tell stories. Not only did she tell her life story which is a very interesting story but she told the story of the meaning behind this film. That was the first time that i became anxious to see this movie. And what more can i say for now. Besides i can't wait until this comes out in the movies.

These two serious videos have been brought to my attention. I feel as though this is a very very serious issue going on in our society.

This is my favorite video right now. I can't believe I missed Larry King Live that night. Actress Robin Givens speaks with the guest host Joy Behar about her life experiences with domestic abuse. (Her Mike Tyson days.)

Woah. This video made my heart hurt when Robin was telling the horrible stories and all the obvious signs in the relationship. As this segment goes on with a couple of other guest joined, you can see that this is actually still hard for Robin. If you watch this video to the end, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to the very last statement of this segment. Robin said something that was so wonderful & that I appreciated greatly.

I applaud Robin Givens so much for helping other women in this struggle.

What Catches My Attention...

Lately, there have been so many videos that have caught my attention. These videos have been serious, funny, strange, and so much more to explain. There are many movies, music videos, short films & documentaries that inspired me in a certain way for many reason. And some people may have realized that inspiration from the many videos, films & visuals that I have shown. Well, with that being said, there's a reason why I'm so much into visuals such as films & music videos. Well, the reality in my mind has always been that maybe there's a directing or producing career ahead for me. Or maybe also an A&R position or any position w/ a record label. Or maybe a position with a fashion or urban magazine. Idk. But we shall see. Anyways, I'll keep informing people to where my future career is headed. Because I'm working towards so much.

But um...yeah...videos are what it is.!.

My bad. Lol.
This posting turned from being about the interesting videos I've been seeing to telling about my many career plans after 2012 once I graduate from this reality check called COLLEGE LIFE.

In my letter to "The CW" network, I will ask them with my sad face if I can get my favorite show "Girlfriends" back; revived from the dead, and of course with new episodes.

Why did they have to cancel Girlfriends?!. WHY?!/.
That question has been sticking in my mind since it happened. I love this show & it's my favorite show right next to "The Hills".

I am on a mission to collecting all the "Girlfriends" seasons on DVD. And "The CW" should be ashame of themselves. But at least they were nice enough to put each season out.

Making The Band 4 Got Really Real This Week...

Well, Well, Well, MR. Q!!!
As you might or might have seen,
Q lashed out at everybody in the house and got extremely crazy due to the effect of the financial hardships in the group. I think he was overreacting & being a little dramatic to situations that shouldn't have been taking to that type of level.

I love Q and all but ya'll know he was really wildN because he was trying to fight my might-be future husband Will over nothing. So, everybody in the house was getting rowdy trying to stop them from fighting.

Even little Aundrea got in the middle as if they were gonna chill out when she came in the room. LMAO. Now that was funny.

Then Dawn got really pissed off & MTV started bleeping out all her words for the scene. So, you know she was real mad about the Q & Will situation.

At the end, Q & Will made up & apologized. That was really nice but it seemed a little uncomfortable for them both (lol) because as they were talking to each other, Q had on no shirt. It was just a bare chest. And sweat pants. lol. yeah...

Anyways, as they both were apologizing, Q & Will would both be looking directly at the floor trying not to make eye contact with each other. Maybe Q should have put on a shirt for that conversation. LMAO. Hilarious.

I've been rocking with Keri Hilson since she first started writing songs for artists. Two of the first Keri songs that came to my ears were Ruben Studdard's 'Play Our Song' & Ciara's 'Ooh Baby' off their very 1st albums. Keri was singing the backgrounds throughout the songs. And those were my favorite songs at one point. *Time out, I'm about go get a listen right quick. Be right back* O.k. The song credits for Keri Hilson can go on forever. But now my homegirl Keri is really doing it big with her own much anticipated album, In A Perfect World. And now, her songs like Energy, Turnin Me On, Make Love (hot), Knock You Down (crazy!), & her new remix to Soulja Boy's Turn My Swag On (crazy!) is making her first album even more anticipated (mainly for myself).

Well, lately on Keri's youtube she's been counting down every day until her album's release. Every day has been different on her youtube. Today was kind of different because she's been shooting the video for her next single "Knock You Down" featuring Kanye West & Ne-Yo. And there were two youtube videos where she was chilling & talking with both Ne-Yo & Kanye about the album & Yeezy's New Yeezy's. I like the Keri & Kanye youtube video better tho.!. And the Keri Hilson & Kanye West "Make Love" Music Video/Promo is really hot with those two. I would of thought there was no Amber Rose with Kanye West for a second.

I don't know if you remember this song & video from 2005 but it's one of my favorite songs and it's called "Don't Put Your Hands On Me" by Keke Wyatt.

According to my iPod, I have played it 357 times. Which is a lot.

Anyways, there's so much reality involved in this song; that it is the real life of many woman who have been victimized due to domestic violence. It's very much serious. I hope Rihanna will get through this tough time. This Thursday, Oprah will dedicate an entire hour of her show to this issue. So, it's a must that everyone tunes in at 4pm.

After the dramatic day I had today, I decided to open my laptop. Then I came to see that MSN had a headline story saying "Lauren Conrad saying bye to 'The Hills'?". And I said, "What?!."

Watery eyes.

Ok. Somebody please, please tell me this isn't true. This is my favorite reality show. L.C. is my favorite person on the show and it's obvious that she is THE STAR. And I've been tuning in to her life since 'Laguna Beach'. So, you all should know that i'm very serious right now. lol.

I had to take another look to make sure I wasn't tripping on that headline. From what I've just read, the producer of The Hills has officially confirmed that L.C. is leaving MTV's 'The Hills'. Season 5 will be her last appearance. And Lauren doesn't want to be apart of the reality show anymore because she wants to move forward and live a more private life. Ok Lauren, I feel you on that one because having cameras film for 20 something episodes per season is alot and no privacy. And I can see how overwelming that can be for your life.

But right now, I'm hoping that Lauren changes her mind and decides not to leave the show after this season. I can't take seeing fake new people come on to the show and same old Heidi & Spencer every Monday night. It's killing me to even think about it.

Season 5 will be premiering March 30. I can't wait. Because 'The City' is killing me right now. Like really. That's a different story for another day. And I'm still wondering why 'Daddy's Girls' only had like 6 or 7 episodes. Idk. MTV needs to change that next season for them.

The April Issue of Glamour Magazine is going to have a 'Limited Time 1939 Pricing' in order to celebrate Glamour's 70th Birthday. And there will also be a one year subscription that will cost $1.50. That idea is brilliant. Kudos to whoever came up with that creative idea. The other magazines should try a similar idea of that kind. Because magazines & subscription prices are killing me. In this new issue of Glamour Magazine, there's an American Female Icons section by Amy Spencer that is celebrated with the help of some young talents in 2009. And the vision of these photos are brilliant. I love them because of the comparision of the original photos.

The 'Cookie' Crumbles On The Bad Girls Club

Ok, so there was a fight on this week's show between the Fab Five (which consist of Tiffany, Boston, Ashley, Sarah & Ailea) versus the 1 & only Amber B aka COOKIE. LMFAO. 'Maybe' Amber B. had it coming to her just like every other time. Like when Kayla got her the last time which forced Kayla to leave the house. Amber B does run her mouth entirely too much and I could see why she gets jumped on a lot. But I guess Tiffany had to finally show Amber B. how they do it in Chi-Town. LMAO. Man. Tiff is so gangsta. But this time I don't really understand exactly how a fight for the millionth time sparked off outside the club & 'only' between 'all the housemates'. Idk. I just can't wait until next week to see if Tiffany's going to be kicked out the house & back to Chicago? I hope not.

I'm still wondering where was Amber B.'s so called best friend, Amber M. when she was getting murked because bff's don't let friends get jumped like that. And this isn't the first time she let her bff get whoop.

In this video, Amber B. just kept pushing it up with K.C. over a restaurant tip. And K.C. should have really shown her how they do it in L.A. by going out with a bang. Most of these bad girls this season are kinda weak compared to last.
